County Champions 1983
On the twentieth day of October
The year of 1983
Kilrossanty Chairman Sean Lennon
Went into the Final with me
Proudly we hung out our pennants
Our colours of fame and renown
The day it was damp and quite misty
As we motored to Dungarvan Town
Ferrybank were the strong favourites
And our lads weren’t given a chance
When the Ref threw the ball in Between them
They led Ferrybank quite a dance
Our forwards were fast and accurate
The midfield and backs they were sound
Like the fleet footed hare of the Comeraghs
They ran Ferrybank into the ground
With tradition and pride in their parish
They played like their fathers of old
In spite of the odds placed against them
They won for the Green and the Gold
When they won and the cup was presented
What a wonderful sight `twas to see
With our lion hearted team and supporters
As we cheered for old Kilrossanty
Here’s to the men from the Comeraghs the pike and the Mahon and Tay
Who played fast and clean Football
And they won us the cup on that day
Now lift up your glass in their honour
Join in a toast now with me
To the men in the Green and Gold colours
Brave, Unconquerable Kilrossanty
Monnie Hayes Leamybrien
