Senior Football:
We played the Brickeys in our first game of the Senior Football championship last Sunday evening in Fraher Field. Playing against the breeze in the first half we got off to a shaky start, going 3 points to no score down inside the first 10 minutes. Having squandered some early chances we looked to be in danger of letting the Brickeys pull away until Joey Veale was fouled inside the large rectangle and Paul Whyte dispatched the resultant penalty to bring us back into the game. The sides then swapped points with Kieran Power and Whyte (2) adding scores for Kilrossanty leaving us a point up at the half time, 1-3 to 5 points. After the break the teams exchanged scores with Alan Quinn pointing in between two Brickeys frees before Paul Keating reopened Kilrossanty’s 1 point lead. Then came the turning point in the game when a flowing move set up Joey Veale who made no mistake, finishing the ball to the corner of the net leaving 4 points between the teams. We had plenty of chances to kill the game in the last 10 minutes but our poor shooting coupled with some excellent saves from the Brickeys goalkeeper meant the margin was just 3 points as the final whistle approached. However, late points from David Power, Alan Quinn and a Paul Whyte free saw us home with 6 points to spare. The final score was Kilrossanty 2-8 Brickey Rangers 0-8. Our next game is against Ring on Sunday afternoon in Fraher Field.
Team: D. Mulhearne, S. Veale, M. Prendergast, B. Prendergast, K. Delahunty, N. Walsh, M. Kirwan, S.Prendergast, D. Power, J. Veale, M. Walsh, A. Quinn, P.Keating, P. Whyte, K. Power. Subs: T. Prendergast for K. Power, J.Whyte for N. Walsh

Senior League vs. Dungarvan
We were away to Dungarvan in the second round of the senior league on Sunday evening last. On the 15th of April we started the game brightly with Paul Whyte pointing an early free and kicking two more points from play. Dungarvan answered with a couple of points of their own but further scores from Whyte who has recently returned from an injury layoff left us 5 points to 2 up midway through the first half. We defended very well in the first period but our attacking play was sloppy at times with the final ball letting us down. We could have been out of sight at half time but for a couple of good goal chances going a begging. As it was we went in at the break ahead by 6 having added points through Michael Walsh, Michael Kirwan, David Power and Tommy Prendergast. We started the second half in much the same vein as the first with two early points but we then went through a poor spell, leaving the home side back into the game as they scored 3 unanswered points, reducing the margin to 4. We got back into the game after that and exchanged points before two scores from substitute Ciaran Keating and a tidy Michael Walsh point put the issue beyond doubt. It ended 15 points to 9 in favour of Kilrossanty. It was great to see Tommy Prendergast and Paul Whyte making their welcome return to the team and no doubt they will be a huge addition to us in the Championship.

Junior Football:
We started the Junior Football championship on Saturday evening last with a trip to Colligan to play Ring. We enjoyed a lot of possession in the first period and created a lot of good scoring opportunities but wayward kicking meant a lot of these chances were wasted. We got our first score from the boot of Mattie Kiely and added further points through Fintan Walsh, Willy Brazil (Free), Ciaran Keating and an Eoin Houlihan free before the interval leaving the half time score 5 points to 3 in favour of Kilrossanty. As the game went on Ring began to dominate the exchanges around the middle of the field and they were more clinical in front of goal, capitalizing on their chances, scoring 1-1 in the second half. Mattie Kiely responded with a score for Kilrossanty but heading into the final minutes we were down by a point until Paddy Kiely put us level with almost the last kick of the game. It ended Kilrossanty 0-7 Ring 1-4. PJ Houlihan saw the line late on for throwing a haymaker so he will be suspended for the next game which is against the Brickeys next Friday night in Abbeyside.
Team: D. Kirwan, P. Lennon, J. Maher, A. Parrish, P.Kiely, J. Coade, J.Whyte, C.Keating, N. P Walsh, E. Houlihan, F. Walsh, M. Veale, M. Kiely, D. Ryan, W. Brazil. Subs: K.Ryan for D.Ryan, PJ Houlihan for W. Brazil, C. Dee for N.P Walsh, J. Collender for J. Maher
